The following community non-profit organizations benefited from the Volunteers with a Purpose program of the Wild West Relay:
ADVOCATES AGAINST BATTERING & ABUSE - Steamboat Springs $540
Provides 24-hour crisis response, individual and group counseling, residential shelter, legal advocacy, protection order assistance, workplace violence program, peer education and community outreach.
EPSILON SIGMA ALPHA-GAMMA CHI - Johnstown $900
An international women's service organization, donating time and money to many worth causes including: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Project Self-Sufficiency, BABY Foundation, Easter Seals, and the U/Jia Doddy Breast Cancer Foundation.
HEALTHIER COMMUNITIES COALITION OF LARIMER COUNTY - Fort Collins $540
Special focus is on youth; coordinating Larimer's Promise - the local America's Promise effort. They effect change by engaging youth-service providers in strategic planning activities, collaborative projects, and educational forums.
JACKSON COUNTY LIONS CLUB - Walden $1,080
Community service organization, providing eye glasses, diabetes awareness, scholastic scholarships, 9 Health Fair and volunteer support for various community fund-raising functions.
LARIMER COUNTY DIVE RESCUE TEAM - Fort Collins $1,260
Responsible for responding to any and all water related incidents within Larimer County. Provide public education concerning water safety, targeting children and youth camps.
LOVELAND YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE - Loveland $360
Helps youth attend trainings and workshops to enhance their leadership education.
MOFFAT COUNTY PARTNERS - Craig $360
Youth mentoring, group activities, and family support
FirstCall 211 (now United Way 2-1-1) - Fort Collins - $2,745
Connects with families in Northwestern Colorado to find the help they need and the volunteer opportunities where they can make a difference. United Way strives to enhance the lives of people by providing timely, accurate, and caring community resource information and referral to community members and non-profit organizations.
VINTAGE VOICES - Loveland $360
Programming for residents of elder care facilities to help soften the decline of the vulnerable elderly.
YAMPATIKA - Steamboat Springs $900
Provides environmental education programs for children, youths, and adults, a nature store, and soon an interactive Nature Center.
